"Santa" delivers Coal to Naughty Fresno Police Union

According to a post on indybay, someone(s) claimed responsibility for busting out the windows of the Fresno Police Union building. The video here shows the damage. The indybay communique left stated:
Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas! Jacky Parks and the FPOA have been very naughty this year. By greedily taking over half of the city budget they are responsible for lost jobs and cut services. I went to fill his stocking with coal but couldn't find the chimney so the coal was delivered through several of the buildings windows.
          Merry Christmas Fresno!
Looks like some people are tired of
playing nice.
Like Modesto, Fresno police have been involved in numerous brutality cases throughout the year, including the shooting deaths of several unarmed persons. A recent report by Colorlines also exposed how the police force has kept on the payroll repeat brutal cops throughout the years.

  1. Such a minimal reaction for anarchists against police brutality. "Here here!" I say to it all the while. To bad we have to work to make money, and in that pay for the broken windows ourselves. Bah humbug!

  2. Two things.

I don't think we can think of any action by the police as the do all, end all action against police terror. I see this act as part of a larger struggle against police in our society. Same with marches, flyers, prison riots, etc.

Also, being that the state uses our tax money for so many things that oppress us and don't benefit us (border fences, surveillance, military, etc) I don't think that the yard stick for action should be if it ends up costing the state money. It's not like taxes are going to go up for more police windows - when they're already spending billions of our taxes to bailout banks and pay for wars.

I see actions like this as 'armed propaganda,' giving voice to a tension and struggle, and giving hope to those that see liberation in resistance.
