Great article. I wish I would have known about the protest before, because I would have gone too. Stockton Police have been abusing the people of Stockton for a very long time. A few years back a Stockton Police Officer jump over the fence into the back yard of the house girlfriend was renting along with the landlord. They broke in the house and the SPO displayed his gun to her and told her to move out asap. I was there. I witnessed it all. I called the watch commander and he said the event never happened. No justice no peace!

Seems like more and more people think/feel that it is OK to not pay their bills. It's okay to decieve these landlords, right?!?! I get it you think it is not stealing huh? Well let me clue you in on something my little gang banger, it's stealing. It's openly robbing someone and using the law to hide behind. To NOT think of the person you are screwing over is pathethic! Really?!?!? Promoting the material using of fellow human beings!?!? Whether the renter is paying it or the landlord is paying there are bills and mortages that go along with having rental property. Saying use the law to legally force someone to support someone else is a downright dispecable trait. Advice for the day: Do not buy what you can not afford. Take care of yourself and your dependants first before you invite all the 1st and 2nd cousins you have to live with you. Provide the basics before you buy your drugs. Pretty simple.

It is a shame that you are not aware of the racial demographics of welfare. That program is in existance to help all and in some states the majority of racipients are not african america nor Latino. I cannot understand how you compare welfare to Race. And somehow relate it to one having their civil liberties taken away. Our judicial system is in place to resolve issues of assault not our police officers. Officers should never become judge nor jury.

i'm so sorry you're experiencing this. many of us know this is not new behavior by police and the press. i sure hope to see the day when all of your family members are free, cleared of these accusations... and hopefully on vacation with the money from a successful lawsuit against both police and the modesto bee, who contributed to slandering family members. it is their job to actually seek the truth, not play patsy for the police.
